Q. Cremations at Faithful Friends are so much more affordable than at crematoriums located in Brisbane. Does that mean the service I will get won't be as good as at a Brisbane facility?
A. Faithful Friends is the only local Darling Downs crematorium and cemetery for pets. John and Judy own and operate Faithful Friends from their property at Nobby. There are no franchaised collection agents to pay for collecting your pet as with other services available on the Downs who transport your pet to Brisbane. The costs associated with this collection and return of the ashes has to be borne by the pet owner. Because we don't have any of these costs, our services are much more affordable. That doesn't mean that we cut corners or that the service you will receive is inferior, in fact, John's experience as Queensland's first pet cemetery owner means our service is first class.
Q. Can I visit the grave site of my pet?
A. The cemetery is open to the public during the hours of daylight every day and is closed from sunset to sunrise. You are welcome to visit at any time while the cemetery is open.
Q. How will I know where my pet is buried?
A. All plots in the Lawn Cemetery and the Headstone Area are marked and are easy to locate. The site is indicated on your Certificate of Burial.
Q. Will I be able to locate my pet's grave in the Bushland Setting?
A. In the Bushland Setting no separate graves are maintained. Your pet will be buried somewhere amongst the trees or in a shady corner of the cemetery.
Q. I have more than one pet. Can I have them buried together?
A. The best solution is to reserve a family area either in advance or when the first of your pets is buried. Ask us about our pre-payment and reservation plans.
Q. I want to have my pet cremated or buried but I am afraid I won't be able to afford it when it is needed. Can I pay in advance by installments?
A. Ask about our installment payment plans. We can tailor a plan to suit your needs and you will save because the prices are fixed at the start of the plan.
Q. How will I be sure that the ashes I get back are the ashes of my pet?
A. When we return ashes to the pet's owner they are accompanied by a Certificate that guarantees the pet has been cremated individually and that the ashes collected, as far as is physically possible, belong only to that pet. A very small amount of residual ash from other cremations may be collected with your pet's ashes, but you can rest assured that your pet has been cremated separately from other pets.
Q. Can I be present for the cremation?
A. Health and Safety regulations do not permit anyone but the trained operators to be present when the cremator is operating.
